How do I change my major?

Admitted to BU and you would like to request to have your major changed for admission, please email buadmiss@bloomu.edu and include your full name, BU ID number and the new major. A request does not guarantee you will be moved to that major. Once the review is done, you will receive an email from our office.

New Freshmen Applicants

Spring, Summer and Fall 2016 Freshman Application!

Please state for freshmen that the nursing application deadline is Nov. 15, and all credentials must be submitted by that date as well. Final decisions will be made on or around mid-to-late December. For other competitive majors, which includes biology, allied health majors, American Sign Language and speech pathology, new freshmen should apply by December 1st for the best consideration.

New Transfer Applicants

Spring, Summer and Fall 2016 Transfer Application

These majors are competitive for new transfer students; apply early for the best consideration:

  • Audiology
  • Biology and Allied Health
  • Speech-Language Pathology

These majors are closed (or on wait list) to new transfer students:

  • Nursing - deadline is March 1 for 2016, and decisions will be made on or around mid-to-late May 2016.
  • Nursing - the R.N. to B.S.N. (for those applicants who are already licensed nurses) will be discontinued as of summer 2014. If you are an R.N., you can apply to the M.S.N. program.
  • American Sign Language/Interpreting - wait list only
  • Engineering 3+2 - closed to all external transfers for all semesters
  • Medical Imaging - closed to all external transfers for all semesters
  • Pre-Occupational Therapy - closed to all external transfers for all semesters
  • Both MIS tracks in College of Business are discontinued, effective Fall 2011
