Homecoming Week

Homecoming Weekend - "Sweet Treats"

Bloomsburg University is hosting its annual Homecoming celebration from Oct. 5 to 7.

On Saturday, Oct. 6, motorists can expect delays on Lightstreet Road (Route 487) between the entrance to lower campus near the Waller ramp and Penn Street between 8 a.m. and noon for the Homecoming parade which will begin at the hospital lot at 11 a.m.

Motorists should also be alert for increased traffic, including pedestrians, on Lightstreet Road in the areas of Country Club Road and Arbutus Park Road between noon and 6 p.m.

For motorists exiting Interstate 80 at the Bloomsburg/Lightstreet exit, please note signs to detour traffic around the parade will be in place. However, a PennDOT message board at the intersection of Lightstreet Road and Central Road will permit motorists to use Lightstreet Road to travel south to lower campus.

Athletic and alumni events on the upper campus on Saturday will be held starting at 9 a.m. and lasting into the evening. Those events include men’s and women’s soccer, football and volleyball along with alumni athletic events for women’s lacrosse and men’s and women’s swimming. Also, a women’s rugby event will be held in addition to an alumni reunion for the class of 1968.

Parking is available for all visitors and fans in the Blue Lot located on the upper campus. For more information, contact Bloomsburg University Police at 570-389-2211.
