Mary Jane Bowes, judge of the state Superior Court, was elected to the state Superior Court in November 2001 and retained for a second 10-year term in 2011. She served as a judicial law clerk for state Chief Justice Henry X.
O’Brien and Superior Court Senior Judges Harry Montgomery and John P. Hester, and was in private practice before joining the legal department of an environmental management firm.
A member of the Allegheny County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations, Bowes earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and juris doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. She was named one of Pennsylvania’s Best 50 Women in Business in 1997.
