Jason Godeke, assistant professor of art and art history
Jason Godeke, associate professor of art and art history, has been awarded the Vermont Studio Center Fellowship by The Institute for Culture and Society, supported through the College of Liberal Arts Faculty Enhancement Fund. This competitive award provides one College of Liberal Arts faculty member a fully funded four-week residency between July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014 to focus on research while in residence at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, VT.
The fellowship includes housing, all meals, studio space, the companionship of professional peers, access to prominent contemporary artists and writers, and most of all, uninterrupted work time.
September — Godeke, has an exhibit of paintings and drawings on viewin the Elzay Gallery of Ohio Northern University. The exhibit, titled "First People, Last People," will be up through September and features works from the past 15 months.
August — Godeke had a solo show, "Departures: Drawings and Paintings," at Illinois Central College, in Peoria, IL, from Aug. 26 to Sept. 19.
Godeke was also part of a two-person show with BU adjunct instructor, Chad Andrews, in Williamsport at Java Juice Art Gallery and Cafe. The exhibit was reviewed by the Williamsport Sun Gazette. In addition, Godeke was part of a group show of graduate alumni at Stony Brook University, on Long Island, New York, which was up through September.
