Jesús Salas-Elorza, Ph.D., published the essay, “Recurso narrativo de desfamiliarización en La vida conyugal, de Sergio Pitol,” in Revista Literatura Mexicana Contemporánea (Enero-Marzo 2011).

Scholarship 2010

April 2010 — Salas-Elorza, Ph.D., was an invited poet in the third Chicago International Festival of Poetry Written in Spanish, Poesía en Abril, sponsored by DePaul University, Northeastern Illinois University, the Instituto Cervantes, the Cultural Center, Chicago Latino Film Festival, Universe of Poetry and Chicago Public Radio.

The poetry readings, featuring twenty poems, took place at Northeastern Illinois University and DePaul University. Salas-Elorza has published nine poems, which include Viví en una casa, He visto, oído y…, Anoche, Uno se marcha un día, País es, Acecho, No sé si…, Hoy and Nieva, in the Mexican literary review Círculo de Poesía.

Scholarship 2009

May — Salas-Elorza, Ph.D., presented the paper titled "Recurso narrativo de desfamiliarizació n en La vida conyugal " at XIV Congreso de Literatura Mexicana Contemporánea held at the University of Texas at El paso on March 5-7.
