The student psychology club, called the Psychology Association, is open to any psychology major or minor. This group is student-run, with officers elected each year. The group usually meets every two weeks to discuss issues pertinent to students and to socialize.
The mission of the group is to promote students’ interest in the field of psychology and to support students’ academic, professional, and personal development
Academic — To provide a forum for advisement about the Psychology major and minor, support students’ attendance at local and/or regional conferences, and promote students’ awareness of academic opportunities across campus.
Professional — To discuss graduate school criteria, programs, exams, applications, and interviews, inform students of the broad range of careers within psychology, and encourage community outreach in the department, university and community.
Personal — To serve as a liaison between faculty and students on issues relevant to the success and well-being of Psychology majors and minors, and provide an opportunity for social interactions among majors, minors and faculty.
