PROGRAM FACULTY & STAFF

Project Director Kate D. Bauman Kate has had the opportunity to wear a variety of “hats” in TRiO Upward Bound. Prior to joining TRiO in 2005, Kate worked for 8 years in higher education including: residence life, admissions and career services. Her educational background includes an undergradute degree in Business Administration and a masters degree in Counseling Psychology and Human Services.

Assistant Director Tia J.L. Dreckman After several years as Education Director with the Allentown Boys & Girls Club, Tia earned her M.Ed. in Secondary School Counseling from The Citadel. She is a PA and SC Certified School Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor. Tia returned to her undergraduate Alma Mater in 2007 as Assistant Director of BU Upward Bound.

Academic Coordinator Jennifer L. Cughan Jennifer’s undergraduate degree is in Sociology with a minor in Political Science and History. After 11 years in the field of Exceptionalities and completing a master's program in Exceptionalities, she accepted her current position as the Academic Coordinator.

Project Secretary Theresa Baylor Theresa joined TRiO UB at the start of the 2012 Summer Academy in her part time role as project secretary. Theresa also is an active member of her community, serving as secretary/treasurer of Franklin Township.

GRADUATE & UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT EMPLOYEES

Katie Stapleton is a Graduate Assistant from the Secondary Education Counseling Masters Program at Bloomsburg University.

Andrea Obert is a Graduate Assistant from the Secondary Education Counseling Masters Program at Bloomsburg University. Andrea's undergraduate background includes a bachelors degree in human development and family studies from The Pennsylvania State University, complete with a study abroad exerience in Italy. Andrea previously worked for The Children's Hopsital of Philadelphia as a Child LIfe Specialist.

Leslie Cope is a senior from Frackville, PA majoring in biology. In addition to working for TRiO Upward Bound during the academic year, Leslie also serves as a tutor counselor for the Summer Academy. Leslie is a TRiO UB alumnus and former Bridge student from North Schuylkill HS.

Jennie Cope is a junior from Frackville, PA majoring in Psychology. Jennis is a TRiO UB alumnus and a former Bridge student from North Schulkill HS.

Dave Hummel is a junior from Mt. Carmel, PA majoring in Computers. Dave is a TRiO UB alumnus and a former Bridge student from Mt. Carmel HS.
