Second City comedy troupe to perform at BU

BLOOMSBURG— The national touring company of Second City comedy troupe will perform at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania on Saturday, Nov. 4, at 8 p.m. in the Haas Center for the Arts, Mitrani Hall. 

 

Second City has launched the careers of a number of the comedy world’s current stars, including Stephen Colbert, Tina Fey and Rachel Dratch, as well as Mike Myers, Bill Murray, John Belushi, John Candy, Dan Aykroyd and Martin Short. 

 

"Truth, Justice or the American Way" will showcase Second City's classic sketch and improvisational comedy. The show features the next generation of comedians performing an array of sketches and songs, as well as off-the-cuff improvisation. From the battle of the sexes to the battles at the voting booth, The Second City is known for providing a satirical and insightful look into contemporary America.

 

General admission tickets are $5 for the public and free for BU students. Tickets may be purchased at the door or at the registration tables for BU's Parents and Family Weekend. Registration tables will be setup in the Kehr Union lobby Friday, Nov. 3, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 4, from 9 a.m. to noon and from 3 to 5 p.m. Tickets will also be available at Redman Stadium during the football game Nov. 4. Cash and checks, only, accepted. Doors open at 7 p.m. and some content may not to suitable for children under 14.
