How athletes, artists conquer their fears

BLOOMSBURG — David Gluck, co-author of “Rhythms of the Game: The Link Between Musical and Athletic Performance,” will give a multimedia presentation on how athletes and artists conquer their fears and transform failure into success on Wednesday, April 11, at 6 p.m. in the Haas Center for the Arts, room 116.

This event is free and open to the public.

Originally from Utica, N.Y., Gluck is a professor of studio composition at Purchase College, State University of New York. As a percussionist, he has toured worldwide and been featured in various media outlets , including Jazz Player magazine and BET Network and NPR’s “Fresh Air.”

Gluck’s presentation focuses on the story of Bernie Williams, the former New York Yankees star and accomplished jazz guitarist. “Rhythms of the Game,” released in July 2011, is inspired by Williams’ life story.
