BLOOMSBURG — The Bloomsburg University-Community Orchestra will present its fall concert on Sunday, Nov. 13, at 2:30 p.m. in Haas Center for the Arts, Mitrani Hall. Conducting will be Mark Jelinek, professor of music, theatre and dance. This event is free and open to the public.

Featuring performers will be Flavia Pisco on violin and Renata Ribeiro on viola. The program will include Florida Suite by Frederick Delius, inspired by the composer’s residence on a Florida orange plantation, and Sinfonia Concertante by Mozart, who composed the work while touring Europe.

Pisco started studying violin at age 14 with her father, violinist and conductor Ayrton Pisco. She continued her music education at the University of Brasilia where she was a member of the university’s chamber orchestra and first violin in the Gasouline Quartet. Pisco has participated in many concerts in Brazil and Germany and currently performs with the Pennsylvania State University Orchestra and the Pennsylvania State University Graduate String Quartet.

Ribeiro, who is also from Brazil, began her studies at the Music Conservatory of Minas Gerais and holds a bachelor’s degree in performance. Part of numerous professional orchestras in Brazil, Ribeiro is pursuing a Master of Music degree at Pennsylvania State University and performs with the university’s symphony orchestra and viola quartet.
