BLOOMSBURG — A total of 80 scholarships were awarded to Bloomsburg University’s incoming freshmen for fall '11 and spring '12.

Students who received scholarships, their hometowns and intended majors are:

Adams County: Joseph Murren, New Oxford, business administration/management, Presidential Leadership Scholarship.

Berks County: Amber Heist, Fleetwood, chemistry, Math, Science and Technology Scholarship; Kurt Kissinger, Hamburg, business administration/management, Karleen M. Hoffman Memorial Scholarship; Bryan Kreider, Reading, business administration/ management, Trustee Scholarship.

Bradford County: Karen Esmus, Towanda, biology, and Marisa Mooney, Sayre, speech pathology and audiology, both received the Highmark Scholarship.

Bucks County: Ryan Geiger, Southampton, secondary education/ mathematics, and Dean Kolb, Trevose, chemistry, both received the Math, Science and Technology Scholarship. Megan Martin, Perkasie, secondary education/ citizenship; Zachary Shaw, Quakertown, business administration/ accounting, and Nicholas Tagliamonte, Warrington, philosophy, all received the Trustee Scholarship.

Chester County: Allison McClung, Kennett Square, secondary education/English, Trustee Scholarship; Amanda Mirabile, Spring City, health sciences, Math, Science and Technology Scholarship; Joseph Smith, Frazer, criminal justice, Presidential Leadership Scholarship.

Middlesex County: Dallas Ostin, East Brunswick, early childhood education, Presidential Leadership Scholarship.

Passaic County: Amanda Sweetman, Wayne, nursing, Highmark Scholarship.

Sussex County: Bela Vaszlavik, Vernon, mass communications, Presidential Leadership Scholarship.

Also receiving freshman scholarships are Andrew Bentivegna of Shoreham, N.Y., a business administration/ accounting major, who received the Jack L. Mertz Accounting Scholarship, and Kelsey Heaton, New Milford, Conn., an exercise science major, Trustee Scholarship.
