BU–Community Orchestra with cellist

For immediate release: Nov. 4, 2010

BLOOMSBURG — The Bloomsburg University – Community Orchestra will perform its fall concert on Sunday Nov. 14, at 2:30 p.m. in BU’s Haas Center for the Arts, Mitrani Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

The performance will feature two pieces, Reinhold Gliere’s Red Poppy Suite No. 1 and Edouard Lalo’s Concerto for Cello in D Minor, featuring guest cellist David Schepps, a faculty member from the University of New Mexico. Both will be conducted by Mark Jelinek, BU professor of music.

Schepps has performed in Taiwan, Switzerland, Germany, England, Italy, Canada and Mexico, and at radio stations throughout the United States, including National Public Radio’s “Performance Today.” The orchestra will accompany David Schepps in Concerto for Cello in D Minor.
