BU's Quest offers outdoor winter festival

For immediate release: January 13, 2009

BLOOMSBURG — Quest, the outdoor and adventure program at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, will host the Human Powered Winter Festival Saturday, Jan. 24, from noon to 4 p.m. at BU's outdoor climbing wall on upper campus.

Attendance is free and open to students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members. Activities will include dog sledding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, mock ice climbing and kayak sledding. Manmade snow will be substituted if there is no natural snow available. Free demonstrations, clinics and hot chocolate will also be offered.

Quest offers outdoor and educational courses, most at the beginner and intermediate level, locally, across the state and nation and in Africa, South and Central America and Europe.
