BU offers travel programs as part of PASSHE program

BLOOMSBURG — Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, as part of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE), invites System alumni and the community to take part in PASSHE's travel programs during 2009-2010. The travel plans include:

- Gems of the Baltic, a 10-night cruise on Holland America's MS Eurodam, which will take place from July 11 to 25, 2009. Prices begin at $3,274 per person, which includes airfare, but not government taxes and fuel surcharges. Ports include Copenhagen, Denmark; Warnemunde, Germany; Tallin, Estonia; St. Petersburg, Russia; Helsinki, Finland; Stockholm, Sweden; and Kiel, Germany.

- A seven-night cruise to Bermuda, from Aug. 9 to 16, 2009. Participants will sail on NCL's Norwegian Dawn from New York to Bermuda. The cruise will feature three full days and two nights in Bermuda. Prices begin at $1,009 and do not include motorcoach fare to and from the ship in New York. The PASSHE Travel Program will set up private motorcoaches from a few Pennsylvania destinations to and from New York.

- A tour of China and Vietnam from Oct. 23 to Nov. 9, 2009. Participants will explore 30 centuries of history and culture of the Far East. Ports of call include Nha Trang, Phu My and Da Nag, Vietnam; Sanya Hainan, Xiamen, People's Republic of China; Shanghai; and Hong Kong. Cruise-only pricing begins at $3,046 per person and air rates will be available in early 2009.

- A land tour, Oberammergau Passion Play and Alpine Explorer, which is a journey through Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Germany. During the tour from July 6 to 16, 2010, participants will view a performance of the Oberammergau Passion Play, performed every 10 years since the 1630s. The price is $3,499 per person and does not include airfare, taxes and fees. Airfare rates will be available in September 2009. The 11-day tour includes 16 meals and is offered via Collette Vacations.
