Deadline approaching for Marathon of the Mind contests at BU

For immediate release: Oct. 6, 2008

BLOOMSBURG — The application deadline is quickly approaching for the Marathon of the Mind contests for Bloomsburg University undergraduate students. Marathon of the Mind, sponsored by Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania’s department of management information systems and computer information systems, is open to all registered undergraduate students of Bloomsburg University regardless of their major. The deadline for registration is Thursday, Oct. 9.

This year, there will be three Marathon of the Mind contests during the Inaugural Week, which runs Oct. 27 to Oct. 31:

  • an essay writing contest
  • a debate contest, and
  • a math/technology/logic contest

All BU undergraduate students are eligible to participate regardless of their major. Each of the competitions carries a first prize of $1000 and a second prize of $400 in savings bonds/certificates plus merit prizes. Winners will be awarded the prizes during an Awards Luncheon on Oct. 30. Participation in the contests is strictly by prior registration.
