BLOOMSBURG — The Northeast Pennsylvania Alliance Against Homelessness at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania is holding its third annual conference on Tuesday, Nov. 13, as part of National Homeless Awareness Week.

The mission of the alliance is to create awareness of the problem of homelessness in northeast and central Pennsylvania and provide assistance through clothing drives and volunteer work.

The conference will feature a photographic presentation by BU art professor emeritus Gary Clark at 1 p.m. in the Kehr Union, Ballroom. Clark is well known for his photographic work completed to create a greater awareness of the homeless problem. A round-table discussion will begin at 2 p.m. in. in the Kehr Union, Multipurpose Room A. Students, professionals and homeless people will discuss the actual problems they and the service providers face daily.

The photographic presentation and round-table discussion are free and open to the public.

The day’s events will also include lunch with the homeless individuals in the university’s Scranton Commons at noon. Aramark, BU’s food service, will provide lunch for the homeless.
