Maggie Anthony, OWL secretary

Hello everyone! I am a junior Speech Pathology and Audiology major with a minor in Special Education! My hometown is Mechanicsburg, PA and I love being with family and friends!

OWL Maggie Anthony

At BU, I am the secretary for the Orientation Workshop Leaders (OWLs) meaning that I take detailed minutes (notes) for all meetings, both with my executive board as well as our general meetings, keep track of attendance, and help out the Orientation office any way that I can! I am also a tutor at the University Tutorial Services and am involved in the Bloomsburg University Honors Program, the Concert Choir, the National Student Speech Hearing and Language Association, and Alpha Phi Omega!

Why I chose Bloomsburg

I chose Bloomsburg because of the amazing reputation it has for my major of Speech Pathology and Audiology. The program itself is incredible as it continues to grow because of the continuous support from professors and other students.

However, once I got to BU, I realized that I totally made out on the deal with the amazing campus, great Student Commons cookies, and a community that truly feels like home.

Favorite Part about Orientation

My absolute favorite part of Orientation is watching relationships grow and people connect. Connections between students or students and OWLs totally make the experience for me! I also love OWL groups and being able to encourage and learn more about a smaller group of incredible new BU students!

What I wish I knew in high school

As a high school senior, I wish that I would have more fully understood the importance of simply being yourself. Although I had great friends and family around me, I did not feel as confident in myself as I do now at BU. So high school seniors out there, be yourself because you have so much to offer! Bloomsburg and the college experience is the perfect time to try new things and become the best you there is! BU AT BU! Please feel free to ask any questions you are having at all!! I am here to help!
