The Department of Developmental Instruction at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania is establishing a pool of faculty to teach University Seminar to undeclared students. This course is a freshman level interdisciplinary studies course focusing on assisting students in their academic and social transition to college.
Candidates for this position must possess:
Minimum of a master’s degree in Reading, English, Education, Psychology, or other related field (Doctorate preferred) and three years’ experience working with college level students is required. All applicants must have evidence of the ability to work and relate to individuals of varying backgrounds and cultures.
Preference will be given to individuals with knowledge of the unique challenges of undeclared students, first year students transitioning to college, and students who are underprepared for college. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations preferred.
Finalists must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process and teaching demonstration. Recommendation for hiring will be made by the majority of regular full-time department members.
