Bloomsburg University is located in beautiful north central Pennsylvania approximately 50 miles southwest of Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and 30 miles west of the Pocono Mountains. The Department of Business Education and Information and Technology Management at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania has one full-time, tenure track position - Assistant/Associate Professor, starting August 2013.
The applicants for the positions will have the following:
- An earned doctorate in business, education, communications, information systems or related discipline by August 1, 2013 (ABD candidates with a firm anticipated degree completion date by December 31, 2013 will be considered).
- Work experience in the areas of business or a communications field
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations
- Demonstrated evidence or recorded agenda of scholarly activities
- Evidence of involvement and leadership positions in professional organizations related to field
- Strength in English (grammar and usage) with an emphasis in business writing is preferred
- Experience teaching organizational communications, intercultural communications, small group communications, and/or writing or communicating across the curriculum is preferred.
- Teaching Business Communications or Communications emphasizing the areas listed above at the college level is preferred
- Experience in evaluating business communications is preferred
- Teaching diversity courses at the college level or as a corporate trainer is preferred
Instructional delivery can occur through on-line, traditional, and alternative instructional methods and can occur on main campus or off site educational locations. Voluntary summer contracts may be available. Scholarly activity, student advisement, and service are integral parts of this faculty position.
Recommendation for hiring is needed by the majority of the regular, full-time department faculty. Finalist(s) for the positions must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process and teaching demonstration as judged by the department faculty. Competitive salary is per collective bargaining agreement and commensurate with experience.
