Assistant Professor, Audiology and Speech Pathology

The Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology in the College of Science and Technology at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania is seeking to hire a professional with an expertise in the areas of Speech-Language Pathology to teach in our graduate and undergraduate programs. The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include academic teaching, personal research, serving on departmental/University committees, mentoring research, and academic advisement. Previous teaching in graduate programs, grant writing, research publications, clinical experience and curriculum development are highly desirable. Our program consists of 26 faculty and staff who teach and/or provide supervision within the department. The faculty and staff benefit from state-of-the-art equipment in our new clinical facilities.

This is a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Salary is commensurate with credentials along with a full benefits package. The position begins in the Spring 2013 semester and is a 9-month contract; however, summer employment has been consistently available.

Minimum requirements: Earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in the area of expertise. Expertise is sought in the following areas: language development, language disorders in children, and models of service delivery. Additional areas of expertise considered as the department grows. Evidence of teaching proficiency, research capability, and demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations in area(s) of expertise are required. Must possess or must be eligible for PA licensure and must possess Certificate of Clinical Competence. Finalists must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process and teaching demonstration or research presentation. Recommendation for hiring needed by the majority of the regular, full time department faculty.
