Celebrating Bloomsburg University Football: 125 Years of Memorable Moments

The display highlights 125 years of football, back to the first game played on Oct. 22, 1892. Included among the memorable moments are the early years as the sport developed; the local athletic fields where the game was played, four of which have been on campus; the undefeated teams in 1948 and 1951 under Robert Redman; the passing of the record setting 1967 season; the return of champions as BU won its first eastern division and then PSAC titles in 1984 and 1985; and finally the last two plus decades under Danny Hale and current head coach Paul Darragh, featuring the trip to the national finals in 2000, an undefeated 2005 regular season, another PSAC title in 2013, and two Harlon Hill award winners as the best player in NCAA Division II football.

All of these make up some of the many memorable moments that football at Bloomsburg has enjoyed over the years. The exhibit is located in the flat cases and one set of wall cases in front of the University Archives on the 3rd Floor of the library and will be up through Feb. 9, 2018.
