EC can be purchased at local pharmacies:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must ask pharmacist to purchase

EC is most effective if taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse, but it may be effective up to 120 hours. Call (570) 389-4451 to schedule an appointment.

Prior to receiving emergency contraception at The Student Health Center:

• A urine pregnancy test will be performed. Be able to provide a urine specimen.
• Birth control options and prevention of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI's) will be discussed.
