Bloomsburg Univesity's Master of Education in Early Childhood Education program provides theoretical and practical experiences future teachers need to meet the challenges of educating the youth of our country. The graduate program is 54-graduate credits hours, which includes a practicum experience (3 credits) and a capstone student teaching experience (6 credits).

An additional choice is the master's in PK-4 without certification. This master’s program is designed for certified teachers who are interested in additional theoretical and analytical knowledge in the area of PK-4 .

PK-4 (M.Ed.) without Certification

  • Program Requirements Sheet
  • Additional Application requirements (beyond requirements of the graduate office)
  • Letter of intent (addressed to Tegan Kotarski, mailed to the graduate office)
  • Transcripts
  • Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited University
  • GRE, MAT, or a Valid Teaching Certificate
  • Copy of teaching certificate
  • Additional Program Requirement – once accepted into the program (see program coordinator)
  • Completion of GPS (Graduate Professional Seminar) in first semester

PK-4 (M.Ed.) with Certification

  • Program Requirements Sheet
  • Additional Application requirements (beyond requirements of the graduate office)
  • Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited University
  • GRE, MAT, or a Valid Teaching Certificate
  • Cumulative GPA 3.0 or greater
  • U.S. Citizenship to be certified to teach in Pennsylvania
  • Program Requirements – once accepted into the program (see program coordinator)
  • Graduate Program Requirement Packet (Gold Packet)
  • Clearances (Act 34, Act 151, FBI Fingerprinting, and Act 24)
  • Professional Liability Insurance
  • TB test
  • Completion of GPS (Graduate Professional Seminar) in first semester

M.Ed. Graduate Program Requirements Packet

Must be completed by the end of TWO semesters. Please see your advisor as soon as possible for guidance with the completion of this requirement. Please be advised, it's ultimately your responsibility to get this packet completed and into the early childhood and adolescent education office within the timeframe outlined in the packet.

  • Your advisor will assist you but will not complete the packet for you.
  • You will need to download and complete a hardcopy of this document!
