Dr. Abbasi received his BS in electrical engineering and his MS in socio economic system. He received his Ph.D. from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in 2009 and joined the department of economics in the same year. His area of research is centered on empirical investigation of economic, social, and legal institutions in the United States and developing world with a focus on Middle Eastern countries.
He has taught several courses including Law and Economics, Middle East Economics, Introduction to Econometrics, Business and Statistics I and II, Business and Economics Mathematics, Principles of Microeconomics and Principles of Macroeconomics.
