SLED

Student Groups

Students Linked to the Education of the Deaf (SLED) welcomes all students interested in working with and learning about individuals who are Deaf and hard of hearing. Our goal is to raise money to send children and youth with a hearing loss to Camp HERO (Here Everyone Really is One) — a philosophy we have adopted as a campus organization.

Deaf Education By raising awareness of the diverse needs of deaf and hard of hearing people we hope to improve their quality of life.

Belief Statements

BU's Education of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing program advocates using a variety of communication methodologies, depending on a student’s individual needs. Graduates of our program gain experience in methods of instruction that prepare them to work with students who are deaf/hard of hearing in a variety of educational settings.
