External Groups - Conferences and Events
Bloomsburg University has served as the host site for many events sponsored by community groups, agencies, regional – national - and international associations. For information, or to book an event, please contact our Office of Conference Services directly or submit an Online Event Inquiry.
BU’s campus features meeting and learning facilities that are sure to fit your needs. Facilities include traditional classrooms, lecture halls, auditoriums, conference rooms and multipurpose rooms. The Office of Conference Services will reserve the space, audio/visual equipment and other services your group requires.
BU offers a variety of on-campus dining options, from continental breakfasts to full service banquets and boxed lunches. Our catering services are professional and imaginative.
To order refreshments, coffee/tea service, meals or linens for your event. Please, make arrangements through the Catertrax online ordering system.
On-campus housing is available during the summer months, mid-May through the beginning of August. Our furnished housing facilities consist of apartments and traditional residence halls. Access to laundry facilities and rental of linens is available for groups who require these amenities. All apartments are air-conditioned and include internet and basic cable television connectivity (bring your own equipment).
The “Visitor’s Guide for Residential Summer Conferences” outlines the services and resources available to on-campus guests. A copy of this brochure is provided to each guest upon check-in to our housing facilities. Request for use of on-campus housing facilities should be made directly with the Office of Conference Services.
Booking, Fees, & Insurance Requirements
If your organization is interested in requesting facilities and support services for an event at BU, please contact the Office of Conference Services. If facilities, equipment and support services are available on the date(s) you request, we will issue a contract outlining the agreement.
Please note the state mandates that groups provide, in advance of any use, a copy of a certificate of insurance covering property damage liability and bodily injury of no less than one million dollars ($1,000,000) per incident. The University must be named as an additional-insured on this policy.
BU facilities may not be used for the purpose of soliciting. Here’s a sample liability insurance certificate and where to find coverage. A deposit of 25 percent of estimated university costs must be submitted with your signed contracts to reserve facilities/services. The deposit will be deducted from your final invoice at the conclusion of your event.
