The most famous of all ballets with some of Tchaikovsky’s most beautiful music, this tour represented by Columbia Artists Management, Inc. will feature some of Russia’s best young dancers. From its lyrical opening movements the music moves with yearning sadness to Tchaikovsky’s characteristically dramatic orchestral ending.

The Romantic tale of Prince Siegfried and Princess Odett told in four acts is a study of contrast between the gentle grace, beauty and vulnerability of the swans and malevolent spells, black magic and deception with the ultimate outcome of love exalting over evil.

Complimenting the live performance of Swan Lake and new this year to Celebrity Artist Series will be Movies at Gross Auditorium. Join us March 23, 7 p.m. as we inaugurate the new film capabilities of K.S. Gross Auditorium with HD Blu-Ray picture, cinema quality projection and theatre sound.

The premiere of this new venture will be Black Swan, the 2010 Academy Award winning psychological thriller about an ambitious dancer, portrayed by Natalie Portman, Oscar winner for Best Actress for this role, preparing for the lead in Swan Lake. Admission to the movie is free to all Swan Lake ticket holders; $1 for all others.
