2015 Feed a Friend of Montour County
On Saturday, November 21st and Tuesday, November 24th, the BGS-BU Chapter volunteered at the Feed a Friend of Montour County event to help deliver Thanksgiving meals to about 1,000 people (360+ families) in need in Danville, PA. Feed a Friend of Montour County has been providing Thanksgiving meals to those less fortunate for 30 years. This is the second year BGS-BU Chapter participated in this event.

Peer Advisors Training Day!
On April 22, 2015, seven BGS members attended the Peer Advisors’ Training Day hosted by the College of Business (COB). Founded by Drs. Ruhul Amin and Lam Nguyen and supported by the COB Dean, the Peer Advisor Program aims to provide assistance to help COB students achieve their academic goals by having BGS members volunteer to serve as peer advisors.
The training was conducted by Dr. Ruhul Amin as the principal trainer, and by Dr. Lam Nguyen and Ms. Mary Howe as the associate trainers.
Spring 2015 Meeting Announcement
Beta Gamma Sigma-Bloomsburg University received the 2015 Outstanding Chapter-Honorable Mention Award
BGS-BU Chapter has been honored with the Outstanding Chapter-Honorable Mention Award at the 2015 AACSB International Conference and Annual Meeting which was held in April in Tampa, FL. Together with the Award, the Chapter will receive $500 scholarship for members.
Feed a Friend
On Tuesday, November 25th, 2014, BGS-BU Chapter volunteered at the Feed a Friend of Montour County to help provide Thanksgiving meals to over 800+ people (300+ families) in need in Danville, PA. Feed a Friend of Montour County has been providing Thanksgiving meals to those less fortunate for 30 years.
2014-2015 Student Leadership Forum (SLF)
BGS-BU Chapter has selected two students to attend the Fall 2014 Student Leadership Forum, which will take place in Indianapolis, IN on November 6-9, 2014. The Forum is an outstanding, interactive, hands-on program that allows our members to become more engaged with the Society and other BGS members. Here are the selected attendees:

Scholarship Contest - Fall 2014
BGS-BU announced its 2014 scholarship award contest awarding $1,000 to a sole winner to be used for senior or master's level study.
Topic: "What characteristics/qualifications do you think a great leader possesses in the 21st century? Why? As a Beta Gamma Sigma member, what can you do to preserve its values and accomplish its mission?"
Beta Gamma Sigma-Bloomsburg University named Premier Chapter
Beta Gamma Sigma-BU Chapter has been awarded the Premier Chapter Award for the 2013-2014 academic year.
The Chapter has been recognized for its excellent performance to encourage and honor academic achievement on campus. Its performance is indicative of a campus where academic excellence is valued and where the officers of the chapter work diligently to enhance Beta Gamma Sigma’s stature on campus.
The Chapter also received the Exemplary Chapter Award for the 2012-2013 academic year.
BGS Scholarship Winner
The winner of the 2014 BGS-BU Scholarship Award is Allison N. Naughton.
Allison Naughton is a senior at Bloomsburg University where she is co-President of the Bloomsburg Club Soccer team. She spends her free time running half marathons, watching reruns of Friends and working in BU's accounts payable department. She's fresh off an internship with AWeber, an experience she can't stop raving about. Her interests include meeting new people and eating buffalo chicken pizza. She's excited to see what the future holds for her, but is currently enjoying every opportunity Bloomsburg has to offer!
The Award Ceremony was held in Fall 2014.
