Speech-Language Pathology (M.S.) Curriculum

The graduate speech-language pathology program consists of the following courses:

    SLP 552 Language Disorders in Preschool Children

    SLP 554 Fluency Disorders

    SLP 556 Disorders of Phonology and Articulation

    SLP 558 Clinical Practicum and Professional Issues in Speech-Language Pathology I

    SLP 560 Voice Disorders

    SLP 562 Language Disorders in School-aged Children

    SLP 564 Craniofacial Disorders

    SLP 565 Motor Speech Disorders

    SLP 566 Clinical Practicum and Professional Issues in Speech-Language Pathology II

    SLP 570 Cognitive Based Language Disorders

    SLP 572 Augmentative Communication

    SLP 574 Clinical Instrumentation in Speech Pathology

    SLP 576 Clinical Practicum and Professional Issues in Speech-Language Pathology III

    SLP 581 Swallowing I: Anatomy, Physiology, Disorders

    SLP 582 Research in Speech and Language Pathology

    SLP 583 Swallowing II: Assessment and Management

    SLP 584 Field Experience in Speech Language Pathology I

    SLP 586 Field Experience in Speech Language Pathology II

    Thesis Option

    SLP 599 Master's Thesis — The thesis may substitute for six credits of required coursework. Courses that may not be substituted include SLP 582, SLP 558, SLP 566, SLP 576, SLP 584, and SLP 586.

    The substitution of a thesis for six credits of academic coursework will have no effect on the content or credit requirement for American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASLHA) certification.
