Clinical Athletic Training Admission Criteria


Clinical Athletic Training This is the only entry-level athletic training master's program offered in Pennsylvania and one of 21 offered nationally. It's open to all students who have completed a bachelor's degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in a related field and who meet the admission criteria.
  • Completed application and acceptance into graduate school
  • Completed application and acceptance into the Clinical Athletic Training program (Deadline: May 1)
  • Completed Graduate Record Exam (GRE). Scores must be current (within last seven years)
  • Completion of the following pre-requisite coursework with a C grade or better prior to acceptance:
      Human Anatomy and Physiology I
      Human Anatomy and Physiology II
      Exercise Physiology
      Kinesiology/Biomechanics
      Sport/Exercise Psychology
      Care and Prevention of Injuries
  • Minimum of 200 hours of direct clinical observation/experience under the guidance of a Certified Athletic Trainer
  • Must submit a letter of verification from the Certified Athletic Trainer at time of application
  • Current First Aid and Professional Rescuer CPR certifications (including adult, child, infant CPR, and AED)
  • Completion of an interview with the program director and faculty
