Deadlines to Apply for Aid
For 2013-2014 Academic Year (Summer 2013, Fall 2013, Spring 2014)
Free Application for Federal Student Aid 2013-2014: All students who wish to receive any type of federal or state aid (grants, scholarships, loans, employment) - must submit this application. Pennsylvania residents must file by May 1, 2013 to be considered for the PHEAA State Grant. You may apply online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
Bloomsburg University Scholarships: Upperclassmen who wish to apply for scholarships must submit the appropriate applications by February 8, 2013 @ 4:30 p.m. Scholarships for incoming students will be determined by the Office of Admissions. More information
Federal Pell Grant: The completed FAFSA information must be received from the federal processor by the Office of Financial Aid by the last day of the semester. More information
Federal SEOG Grant: No separate application is required. Eligible students who have submitted a FAFSA will be considered for this grant. More information
PHEAA State Grant: Pennsylvania residents must file the FAFSA by May 1, 2013 to be considered for this grant. Some students also will be required to complete the PHEAA Grant Status Notice, which will be mailed to the student by PHEAA. More information
Federal Perkins Loan: No separate application is required. Eligible students who have submitted a FAFSA will be considered for this loan. More information
Federal Loans other than Perkins: Loan applications may be submitted beginning May 1, 2013. However PLUS Loan applications should not be submitted earlier than 90 days before the semester since the credit check may expire prior to the loan be disbursed. All loans must be certified by the last day of the loan term. More information
Private Educational Alternative Loan: Students and parents wishing to receive this type of loan are encouraged to start applying after May 1, 2013. Prior to applying for this type of loan, you should first explore all other forms of financial aid. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid for more information. Deadlines vary by lender. Federal Work-Study Program (FWSP) & Institutional State Student Employment: Students are required to complete a new application each year. More information
